VALENTINA ZLIG

Valentina has already made a series of beautiful photos on the “final photo shooting in Greece”. A good reason for our fashion photographer Marko Turk, to put up a proposal for Valentina, to be the Face of Berniemodels as the most photogenic finalist.
Our sponsor Polzela, the biggest producer of stockings in this part of Europe has immediately decided to invite Valentina to the photo shooting for their newest catalogue for the spring- summer collection 2008.
Valentina has worked with Jure Stopnik, a male model and Mila Knežević, a female model, they have become friends on the final photo shooting for Berniemodels in Greece. She has also worked with the photographer was Marko Turk, the make-up artists Ksenija Pehlič- Simončič and Maja Balanč, the stylist Sonja Šterman and Marina Popović as an assistant stylist, the hair stylist Smiljan Škarica, and the producer Lucijan Vihar.
“The photo shooting for Polzela was a beautiful and exciting experience for me.” Valentina told us. “It is always a pleasure to work with a good team, especially, if this is the team I have already worked with in Greece. Yes, I must confess, it was not easy posing for 12 hours per day ( the photo shooting took us two working days) but it was also a chance for me, to try a different pose every time. I am really glad that I got this opportunity and I am certain, that this photo shooting will open many doors for me to work as a photo model.

CITY ISLAND
A quaint main street, salty air and views of Long Island Sound have led some people to compare this neighborhood to Cape Cod. That’s an exaggeration, but the small town marine feel is an unusual slice of the big city, and it can be a shock when an N.Y.P.D. patrol car or Bx29 bus reminds you that you’re still in Mayor Bloomberg’s jurisdiction.
In the spring and summer, crowds come for fried seafood and festive (locals might say too festive) atmosphere. Restaurants range from Johnny’s Reef, with outdoor seating, water views, fried clam strips and beer at the far end of the island, to Le Refuge Inn, a French restaurant (and bed-and-breakfast) closer to the other end. There are also art galleries, cafes and antiques shops.

ICE CREAM

You don't know how much this hurts, ladies and gents.
You see, Kornet Pizza makes pizza cones (pictured). And I've been dying to try one of these things since I first heard about them in April of 2004, when Kono Pizza first surfaced in Italy. Since then, they also appeared as a short-lived street-food fad in South Korea.
And now, my mom emails me, basically telling me that one of my white whales of pizza, one of my holy grails of food, had been just a 20-minute drive away at the mall—and likely was there the whole time I was in the KC metro area for Christmas.
Not only that, but the article that my mom referenced from the local paper said that this is the first U.S. branch of Kornet Pizza. Would you look at that—and in the very mall I used to rat around as a teen-ager.
All any of us non–Kansas City people can do is wait till Kornet Pizza franchises open in our neck of the woods.
